Art Fire Store and a Dear Friend of Mine Equal the Same

My dear friend Chrissy has so much faith in me and knows that I will jump through fire to help her. And so here is my fire - the web world...

Chrissy has gone and done it again and is expanding her services to other forms of networks this time using Art Fire which is a new one for me. I have to tell you she is so happy with their services and it's really cheap to sell all homemade items and it's the perfect time of year to open a new store up because hey "WE ARE IN CHRISTMAS SEASON"....

I am a full time stay at home mother of 4. This business started out as a hobby before my 1st child was born. And now it my living. Over the years I've learned how to be creative and selective in what my children use. Crayons have always been a hit for generation and I've created fun ways for children to color. With 4 children birthday party themes are a must. For each of my children are into different fads. You'll see my store options are always changing but be assured that I do custom orders and that's most of business is catering to those custom orders. I have been doing this for over 20 years. I have a strong customer base and welcome all new customers. Our store is your second family. So welcome

I list new items every day if there is something you see like the crayon of the month club etc and you would love to get it but to much all at once I can invoice you for the gift every month before sending it how to help I love custom orders no order is to large for me.

And because I am helping her out by posting this on my blog she in return would like to help you out and offer our blog readers a discount by using the code coupon code ChristmasinJuly2011....

And here are my two choices of  "MY PICKS"

She does everything from Party Supplies to Daycares, Easter Baskets, Christmas Gifts as well as Bridal Showers and most of her business is Custom Orders...

The reason for my picks is that - in the summer no one uses blankets and therefore never buys them but you know what - it's cheaper to buy them in the summer and so with that in mind - I figured on helping my reading just a tad bit more...

Chrissy has made a donation to our site and we thank her for that... As you know I am happy to help anyone that has an honest good hearted store/web/story/information. And for those that have web stores for just $5.00 a month you can have a blog button placed on blog. With that we will also place your info on all 4 of our facebooks and twitter on all of our accounts to help spread the word about you!!

Crocheting Something New

Mrs Chicken Pants - and yes we are talking about me.... Tried something new today.  People ask me all the time if I crochet toys and such. And my answer has always been "As if" lol I am so insecure about my abilities in creating anything new when it comes to yarns. But I do try at a very snail like pace lol...

"MAY FOR ME" is coming up and I am trying to get all of my patterns in place and pre-doing projects so that they go smooth for the whole month. I figured Barbie Clothes would be something easy to do and well it just isn't. Not for a beginner like me that is.

I haven't gotten my bins yet and so I am trying to fill my time with getting custom orders done and fitting in fun time where I can learn these new things. I will admit today was a chore for me. Mentally I kept telling myself - "Nope can't do it" & "Nope I suck"

So here is what I suck at....

Well not a total bust but certainly in need for some major practicing. These will go up for sale tonight at http://www.etsy.com/shop/mrscraftyrving and maybe someone in the etsy world will think I am a genius with the crocheting hook - one can only hope...

I have a feeling in May I will be pumping out some cool new things - all toy themes... I've always wanted to learn how to make handmade crochet/knitted toys. The time it takes to make them and the love it takes for someone to buy them all equals true treasures....

This store is a major fan of vintage. Rule of thumb for vintage is anything that's over 20 years old. I guess I am 2 times vintage - lol... But do check out this cute store and tell them MrsCraftyRVing said hello....

QUESTION OF THE DAY:
How old where you when you got your first Barbie or Ken doll?
Would love to hear (I was 10 - I know older but I just wasn't into dolls - kind of am now)...

Getting Ready for May for Me

May for Me? What is this all about? Click on any word "MAY" and it will take you to the very link that is the leader of all this fun in the whole crafting world. Again all MAY words will take you to the direct link. Rules and all the info is there for you to get started - and the best part is there are so many gift giveaways that you're not going to want to miss out on....

What I am doing for "MAY for me" is to learn how to crochet toys. The whole entire month I will be posting patterns I am working on - followed up with pictures of me crying in the process (kidding - I think). And the story line as to why I picked that particular pattern.

Now whats cool about "MAY for me" is that my husband is getting in on the fun with devoting the entire month of sewing new clothes for me... I know - I know I am so spoiled. But he'll be sewing up PJ's for himself as well. And as a double bonus we'll add his take on the whole "MAY for me" on the blog as well.

We are both excited and we are working very hard getting our RV re-organized in time to start off "MAY for me" - here is just a few pictures to show you how extreme of a change we are doing. We built a wall and everything - it's just plain crazy and I so love it... We are getting all new bins next week and so everything will have a place and be labeled and life will be easier for us in the crafting RV world.

So you can see we still have a long ways to go. Don't worry I have plans for the walls with some cool crafty art... Jorge will be sewing up the pillows tomorrow (popcorn fabric) and then all we have to do is wait for the storage containers and gadgets and we are so ready for "MAY for me"

Timing is Everything

Timing is everything and I just didn't have it today... so because I failed today in producing anything but a large headache. Let me bring you some fun reads... JOKES!!

-What kind of needlework is always angry?
Cross stitch!

-What kind of yarn do you get when you cross a small camelid with a rabbit?
Al-gora.
(Get it? Al-gora? Al... Gore... A?)

-What did Mrs Spider say to Mr Spider when he explained why he was home late?
You're spinning me a yarn.

A Classic Rabbit Yarn by Pauline Henderson

A rabbit walks into a pub and says to the barman, 'Can I have a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie?' The barman is amazed but gives the rabbit a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie. The rabbit drinks the beer and eats the toastie, he then leaves.

The following night the rabbit returns and again asks for a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie. The barman, now intrigued by the rabbit and the extra drinkers in the pub (because word gets round) gives the rabbit the pint and the toastie. The rabbit consumes them and leaves.

The next night, the pub is packed, in walks the rabbit and says, 'A pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie, please barman.' The crowd is hushed as the barman gives the rabbit his pint and toastie and then burst into applause as the rabbit wolfs them down.

The next night there is standing room only in the pub, coaches have been laid on for the crowds of patrons attending, the barman is making more money in one week than he did all last year. In walks the rabbit and says, 'A pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie, please barman, 'smiling and accepting the tributes of the masses. The barman says, 'I'm sorry rabbit, old mate, old mucker but we are right out of them ham and cheese toasties' . The rabbit looks aghast, the crowd has quietened to almost a whisper, when the barman clears his throat nervously and says, 'We do have a very nice Cheese and Onion Toastie.' The rabbit looks him in the eye and says, 'Are you sure I will like it?' The masses bated breath is ear shatteringly silent. The barman, with a roguish smile says, 'Do you think that I would let down one of my best friends, I know you'll love it.' Ok, 'says the rabbit, 'I'll have a pint of beer and a cheese and onion toastie'. The pub erupts with glee as the rabbit quaffs the beer and guzzles the toastie, he then waves to the crowd and leaves.... .....

NEVER TO RETURN

»One year later in the now impoverished public house, the barman (who has only served 4 drinks tonight, 3 of which were his) calls time. When he is cleaning down the now empty bar, he sees a small white form, floating above the bar. The barman says, 'Who are you?' To which he is answered, 'I am the ghost of the rabbit that used to frequent your public house.' The barman says, 'I remember you, you made me famous, you would come in every night and have a pint of beer and a ham and cheese toastie, masses came to see you and this place was famous.' The rabbit says, 'Yes I know.' The barman said, 'I remember, on your last night we didn't have any ham and cheese toasties, you had a cheese and onion one instead.' The rabbit said, 'Yes, you promised me that I would love it' . The barman said, 'You never came back, what happened?'I DIED' , said the rabbit.' NO!' said the barman, 'what from?' After a short pause, the rabbit said......................................................

' Mixin' -me-toasties'

MISS TANAKA GIVEAWAY

First the history of the Tanaka. Then the GiveAway Rules are below...
Good Luck!!

Legend says Miss Tanaka is a dragonfly found on mountain rainforest's of southern Brazil. It has iridescent golden wings, a bright blue tummy, and it likes to hop from plant to plant on small ponds, just as the sun is getting warm and the water lily flowers begin to open. Legend also says all the other bugs of the forest fall in love with it. To help Miss Tanaka take flight, press it down against a smooth, clean surface until the suction cup on the bottom grabs on. Wait a few seconds, and, as the suction cup releases, Miss Tanaka flies off to another place. Please make sure you stay away from Miss TanakaÕs flight path as it hops. Easter Crafts

I am at a struggle on what to do about Easter. It's still early and I still have time to come up with something to make in honor of Easter for my Etsy store http://www.etsy.com/shop/mrscraftyrving . I know Jorge will be doing another Easter item for his store http://www.etsy.com/shop/mrcraftyrving but what in the world can I do that would sell? So in the next week I will research pattern and such and hope for the best. Maybe one of my readers will have a great suggestion for me..... HINT HINT... So get your thinking caps on along with me and lets see what we can come up with...

TODAY ETSY'S FEATURE ITEM....

You'll see a lot of stuff like mine but you know what etsy shop owners are the best and we all support each other. I have done business with this shop owner and she has really helped me when I have gotten into a jam and I love her baskets and had to use her just for my Easter Feature - I'd be nuts not too.

Handmade Barbie Doll Clothes

I am one happy cookie right now. We have completed another bucket list for our goal in trying out in the crafting world. No and not with yarn - YET... But with our sewing machine.

I do sew but today it was all about Jorge and his machine. See he doesn't think about little kids and how the kids world of merchandise sells quicker and
better then any ole boring adult stuff. And that we need to get with the program.

And so he has started.... Today is just a simple pattern just so we can the product out there showing the world that is can be done by MrCraftyRVing... Of course we posted on FaceBook just to see if anyone notice and we had some comments already which is always a great thing.

But here is the kicker - one of the three pictures below is a of a dress I made... LOL bet you didn't know I knew how to sew. It's just easier to let Jorge do all the sewing so I can do all the knitting/crochet/computer stuff. He's much quicker then I am...

So grand-daughters, daughters, friends, little people it's almost Easter time and by then we'll have a grand selection of them... BUT we seem to be mastering in custom orders - so if your looking for a certain pattern, style or color - we are your people.... Any one who buy 5 or more at one time will receive a discount code to use in your check out - however do email me first on etsy to get this code. If no code then no discount and that is only for orders over 5...

But the blog is to tell you how proud and excited I am to announce that we now have Barbie Doll clothes to our line of products... Soon we'll have diaper covers, bigger doll clothes for baby dolls and cocoons for newborn prop pictures that seem to be the only way babies make their debut to the world. Maybe we'll have to take an online program about business, or better yet, just get some pointers from
Marketing Degree Online.com.

And so because I am so excited about this blog of bragging rights - I will now feature AGAIN an item I found of etsy (I love this because the blog is published before they find out they are featured)
Anchela Lynch

$480.00 and I have seen them for a $1000 or more and this is one hell of good price!!
This seller has 21 items for sale very much worth checking into..

Now here is my question for my readers...
What is the most expensive craft item you ever bought?
