Donation hats I've made so far within the last 48 hours!

The weather is not hot nor super cold but just perfect to open one's heart and start giving... The last 48 hours I worked on my donation hats for the store (remember I donate in 3 stages so that something is always in the works... 1. Jorge and I as a donor and that cause is MS in honor of my brother and 2 through my store to give customers the chance to also do right and 3 and I can't come complete public about this but I am hoping that Jorge's job will also support this cause to Inyo Bishop Hospital who is in great need of help. If the company wishes not to participate then it will be in Jorge's and my name - so I am asking for prayers on this quest of mine - Our winter is dedicated to doing Charity work that's 5+ months - what will you do?)...

Giving shouldn't be easy - in fact it should be hard. Why you ask? Well I have a couple of things to share...

Deuteronomy 14:28-29
At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in your towns, so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Deuteronomy 15:7
If there is a poor man among your brothers in any of the towns of the land that the LORD your God is giving you, do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother.

Leviticus 19:10
Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 23:22
When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the alien. I am the LORD your God.

Leviticus 25:35
'If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so he can continue to live among you.

Psalm 37:25-26
I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. They are always generous and lend freely; their children will be blessed.

Psalm 41:1-2
Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.

Psalm 112:9
He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever; his horn will be lifted high in honor.

Proverbs 11:24-25
One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

This Proverbs hits home for me and saved the best for last.

I can go on and on.... This is something so strong within me!
I get this very often when people are shocked when they hear Jorge and I say prayers daily and often - and often get called Bible Thumpers - well thumping away I go because I am a sinner and I need my school for the sinners. I am not perfect that's why I turn to the Bible to learn the tools I need to know (and often enough a repeat in lessons)....

I hope you share my love for what I am trying to share with you and understand how precious life is.... And how short it is.....

A boo boo turned into a treasure

So I got off my lazy bum bum and got to working on some fun things AGAIN... I've got so much yarn and still tons more coming in.... Charity is in full swing for us - and doing double duty because I also have to add my selling hats to the "TO DO" list. So today I broke my day in half and was able to do both.... I have to tell you the purse you see was suppose to be a hat but I used a crochet needle way to big... So here you have a new creation.... The future ones will have a liner in it.... Children and Babies and Preemies are my donated hats while my adult hats are for sale.... My fingers are tired and so I will chat you all later!! Inyo Hospital and MS and CapforCharity are the 3 organization we choose to work with this year.... You should try giving a helping hand - there is always a need for more help....

Woodburning Job

OK, so I've been sick but I've kept busy.... A customer came knocking on my door asking me to do some woodburning on her cutting board - now before you go all crazy on me, my audience this is not for cutting her food all up but for kitchen art. So I did a drawing and got to burning. The drawing took me longer then the burning... My finger tips are a little raw - but I am happy to report the customer so fell in love with it.....

I also managed to get some hats done. And now I can end my blog insert and just get to the pictures... Tomorrow I am a passenger for my husband for the day and so my fingers will get a break.... So Tuesday I'll be back at it! Hope you enjoy!

Inventory

Well we have like 59 more days till the season is done for my husband. We've decided to winter in Bishop. Which is great because I'd just connected with:
Lucy Alarid, LCSW

Patient Advocate
Northern Inyo Hospital
150 Pioneer Lane
Bishop, CA 93514

and

CapsForCure a yahoo group that just makes hats for all kinds of causese

and

MS Yahoo group that I am the owner of (my brother passed away June 1, 2009)

We'll have plenty to do this winter for sure with God's guidance of helping others where we can. Charity is not suppose to be easy other wise it wouldn't be called charity. I hope that you all choose to help a friend, a neighbor, a stranger - the gift of giving goes beyond words and you ought to try it....

So these past couple of weeks we've been working on building our inventory - I just received a box of donated yarns from Mrs Patti Bertram of Minden, NV. It was wonderful to have a stranger helping our cause and giving us moral support and just being excited to help reach our goal.... I'm always looking for yarns or supplies to help make items - so if you have a stash somewhere do email me and I'd be happy to take them off your hands...

I've also been working on our inventory for our stores... I've just bought a ton of beads for Jorge who soon enough will have time to really get a bunch made - I do love his Halloween one he made yesterday - check it our for yourself and let him know what you think.

My little RV is now crowded with items - lol which is why Jan 1, 2011 we start shopping for a travel trailer.... I am so ready!! I hope it goes smooth for us in the shopping department.... Well off to knit!

SnowPea's new Sweater!

It's getting closer to where I an now get some projects done... I've been working on my beading loom and Jorge has a beauty of a bracelet almost done... A sweater was made for my SnowPea and I just love the colors on her. And she loves clothes and doesn't mind us getting her dressed.... The next sweater will be made a little different. I have a granny square one almost finished for her.... Not much to add in this blog insert but soon I'll be up and running big time!!

FLASH1214

Before I start this blog entry I am to tell you that this particular store owner want to state to all the readers how grateful she is of my service (now I am blushing). I will say she is my biggest donation giver and I'd like to say thank you very much!!

http://www.etsy.com/shop/FLASH1214

By now you've seen FLASH1214's pictures and I have to brag for just a second and tell you I personally bought 4 of her HELLO KITTY PURSES. I have a set a twin nieces (from my husband side) and a great niece (also on my husband side) who are just going to love these and the 4th HELLO KITTY PURSE will go to my baby to my baby brothers new baby Mae Christmas - who of course is too young yet but I didn't care I had to get them.... Now most people say to me all the time why do you buy from ETSY when you are a crafter yourself? And I tell them that crafters make the best buyers and that how we learn to expand our arts of sorts.... Also there are a lot of crafters that work full-time from their home because of physical problems and such... Which brings us back to FLASH1214.

ROSE ANN had back surgery some time ago and of course with the economy the way it is had issues with her insurance as we all do - HOW THE HELL TO PAY FOR IT...? Well she did what most hard working people do "FIND A WAY" and that way was through ETSY.... So on May 26, 2009 she started her ETSY store and place some items up for sale and prayed a lot... See ETSY is still a bit new to the world and if your a new shop it's hard to get immediate sales (I know this first hand as well - I'm only at 9 sales) and you often think to yourself "Was this all worth it"? In this case yes but as time went on and her sales started picking up a little of her medical bills where starting to get paid. And as you have it her husband now has some medical issues.... So it's back to the drawing board again - and instead of whining about it she got to making more items for her shop and then back to praying..... So here we are modern time (Sept 5th) and she has 159 sales and a rating of 279 (that's 100% positive comments). I'll share some of her comments here in a second....

http://www.etsy.com/shop/FLASH1214

Here's some fun facts about ROSE ANN. Of course she's married but she has 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. They all beg to her to make items for them and of course as you know grandchildren don't know the word no. So what I am saying here is that this women is not lazy by any means and provides a secondary job to help support her family and to uses her talent to entertain her grandchildren.... I'm in total ahhhhh over her. And then to find me and hire me so that all of you wonderful people can see for yourself how great her items are... I can't make half the stuff in her store... ROSE ANN states: Etsy is my therapy. I think it's more then that and for that she gets my 5-stars of top service. It took her 2 days to make my items and I got them so fast. She is about top service and means business with her shop....

I could go on and on but you can go directly to her shop and see for your self over the tons and tons of comments.... you won't get that far because once you see her store products you'll see that a picture speaks a thousand words... So get to leaving a comment on her then head off to see her wonderful store. She's hard working gal and will work with you as she had with me!!
