Now I do have another favor to ask of you. Since you have so many followers on your blog could you ask a question for me. We are wondering if I can run my Featherweight 221 off the inverter. Or my Janome 8077? We can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone. We have asked at many of the quilt shops I stop at that sell machines. I went online ask a guy that specializes in Featherweight re-builds and repair and no one seems to know. Perhaps if someone that sews or quilts that boondocks may read your blog and has run their machine off an inverter can answer my question.
Hugs
Paula
The one thing we learned is to have the utmost communication with ALL of our customers. Treat them as you would want to be treated.
The Charity dress that Jorge did had this to say:

The colors, the workmanship...everything...PERFECT. You 2 are awesome. I tweeted you also...as soon as I get a check after the 1st from my office...I will order more roll ups. I can't wait for the Hospital and the orphanage to get these. I fund all of this myself so right now just to keep up with sending the seamstresses fabric and all...I am working non stop. It's my passion though and no matter what, I will do this :) I am also taking on a new project that I haven;t posted yet in Los Angeles, Holy Cross Trauma Center...it never ends...lol
Hugs to ya both <3
Imagine doing what Karen does all from your own pocketbook - truly an amazing person... Please be sure to check out her web site: www.sweetpillowblessing.org and see how you can team up with her or to at least send her email mail and tell her how great she is. We look forward ourselves working with her...
So yesterday Jorge did his demo dresses for the BIG contract he has with another customer in who I have to state for the record has beyond awesome communication (56 emails between us - AWESOME and what we like) and from every step knows what she wants... She loved the demo dresses (and her favorite is the green dress as it is also mine - however Jorge's favorite is the purple one) and they are now up for sale in our store. Here they are....
The details are amazing - this customer has brought the best out in
Jorge and looks forward to being challenged more.
You can find both of these doll outfits for sale at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/mrscraftyrving
I didn't put the hat on correct but it does sit on her
head better then what you are seeing.

And today Jorge is working - he routine until Monday will be 2 full complete outfits and 1 main dress for the store. Then Monday he'll do more - his goal is 5 but that has to be in between customer checking in - but I got that covered because I will be outside with my computer working on my work and I can wait on customers as they come in... No one can say we are lazy that's for sure... Multi tasked is the key we have to live by and acting like a team and being in sync is our secret.
We do joke around with the dolls - telling them what's in store for them - and well Trixie will be working over time starting Monday and lucky Reese is only working part-time. You have to be silly when it comes to crafting - it should be fun otherwise "What's the Point". Besides we are fun folks!!
I am always amazed at women and for the hard work they do. I can tell you first hand I have had both of these women homemade cooked meals - so why not have some cute gear to help them along. Thank you Alina and thank you Sue for being great customers....
Lady Like for sure - beautiful heart to match too!!
Great Model very sassy - got to love it!!
And here are the others we have for sale... email me if you are looking for something a bit different...
Today is the day we get to open the box and feel/pet and aww's at the fabric Jorge gets to work with. And then it's measuring Trixie's body from head to toe. Trixie's body is nothing like Reese's body at all. Trixie is a classic a 1958 remade in 2007 where Reese is a modern 2009. There is slight difference in the measurements but they bodies are a bit different as far as feel is concerned. Trixie is a rubber while Reese is a plastic feel. Makes a huge difference on how you make the dress.
We love Trixie's hair style and we have decided she is going to photograph very well and we are happy to work with her. We now wish to share day one of Jorge's important contract (lol he says of his life - nah the customer is awesome to work with).
Jorge is making a demo dress first and if it passes then it becomes my job to cut all the dresses patterns (30 of them 10 in each fabric) out and then he can begin his work. We hope he can push 5 a day (remember folks he has RA but that won't knock him down he welcomes the challenge) he says maybe more - of course weather has a huge impact because while he is working on the demo dress it is 101 inside the rig and on cooler days he'll be able to work faster - but we have plenty of time for this order and no need to rush - a rush order is a messy order. This week will be a hot for us so things will be on the slow side but at least I can cut patterns outside and that is half the battle of the work!!
Trixie came to us naked but this is a family blog and so we put a outfit on her...
Demo work first for any customer - it would stink to make a huge order and it is not what the customer wanted.. Jorge loves his customers and treats them right!!
You will have to wait a day or two to see what is next!! Got to keep you coming back don't we?
OK so most of my friends know I am all about helping my friends and today would be no different. I am very good friends with Steph's Mum Sue.
Well a little fun fact about me and my many quirks. 365 days a year no matter what the temp may be I always sleep with a blanket. You see I was told as a child that if I didn't cover my toes that when my Mum died she would come back and haunt me by pulling my toes and Lord knows how much I fear that women. A fear that has never been dealt with other then the simple act of making DANG sure my toes are covered ALWAYS.
And see gifted women like Steph would bank of people like me and then there is the shear fact of wanting a handmade blanket made just for you from pure talent....
https://sites.google.com/site/blanketsbysteph/
Steph has no clue that I am doing this mini write-up and so I am very vague on what information I can give about her without her permission - I tend to respect privacy info.... But I can say with my own words on how much she rocks...
This is my favorite blanket by far:
Yes I LOVE LOVE LadyBugs...
And my husband of course got in on the act and picked his favorite too - although a lot of pink he still like this one the best...
I hate not having inet - I really do. July 14th is when we get it back and I am so counting down the days.
We are having a major blast up here in Idaho!! Things are getting done and we are ready for summer - it's been raining A LOT here and well we are ready for sunshine for more then one day at a time. I am wearing a jacket still - can you believe that.... EEEEK and it's a great thing we 100% adore the big boss here. They have been beyond wonderful!! And having our friends on the other end of the gate has been a complete joy.... She's so easy to pick on and I need to plan a little revenge on here and turn to my blogging world to help me cook one up.
I am a freak about being ready and not having someone wait for me. I think it's rude to make people wait and I never want to do that to anyone. Well my little smarty pants friend knows this and decided to show up a 1/2 hour earlier just to be funny about - I so panicked and now it's revenge time.... Any ideas? Let me know in the comment form. This has to be all in fun of course I do love my Sue!!
So let me sign off with some pictures of our area and what we've been up to. And know that we really miss our blogging world friends!! It's just cool to go so long with out blogging!!

Jorge starts off May For Me. A customer had hired Jorge to do an Apron for a member of her family - LUCKY LADY too. The colors are just amazing.
Now Jorge has never done an Apron and wanted to add making them to our store so this was a great chance to learn how to make. He invested a lot of hours into this project but don't feel to sorry for him - this is very normal for him.
See the colors are wonderful. The patter shows two apron and the customer wanted the longer one - Pattern B, another great choice. And so now to show you Jorge in action....
My husband ROCKS... He is not embarrassed to ask for direction or better yet, read direction - something he will do over and over during the whole sewing project. Type A when it comes to sewing for sure.
Cutting and OMG there was a lot of cutting. One of my questions to Heather (who also makes apron and is a genius) is does she have hard templates or does she still use the soft paper? Maybe she'll let a great tip in the comment feed...
And yes our rig is small and so often enough we can be found on the floor working on bigger projects such as this one. Don't you just love that lime green - it's beautiful...
LOL every couple of month my wonderful husband will ask for new pins - and my thought is WHY? We have like a zillion of them - well as it turns out a lot of pins are needed in a sewing project. Here is a major bonus FUN FACT about Jorge - not once has ever gone without pinning himself until today!! Congrats to Jorge (George).
Just to give you an idea of the size of the pieces. His tools are very basic and not fancy at all. This was close to lunch time when Jorge yells out - Just give me cereal for lunch (lol because that means he wants to eat fast so he can get back to work)...
Fun fabric now - mini grapes... Which the customer's family member is just going to love... The funny thing about this is. The lady who was cutting the fabric thought they was apples. She was young and very cute and very friendly - she is entitled to a little mistake - been there and done that.
OK now we are getting some where and now we are ready to sew - LOL that is Jorge is ready to sew. But first he has to change the thread and fill the bobbin... Oh the background noise at this point is The Godfather ...
It not pretty yet but is sure is getting there... So now that Jorge will have this under his belt - I have put in my order for Christmas (I told him he can pick out the colors and everything - talk about being stress out - he's over thinking it and we still have 8 mths LOL)...
Notice the small table he's working on - so now if you sew there is no more complaining because if you do - he'll be happy to switch for a day... This is our picture table (my idea - I wanted to see my family and friends and with no wall room this was just perfect - it's not glass but plexiglass - I don't do glass well at all) that he is working on.
LOL he can be funny when he wants to be - he's telling me the pressure of May For Me is so far behind him but now he's worried about what you ladies think... Yep I am now chopped liver - lol... By now you must be thinking "Well if Jorge is sewing then what the heck are you doing?" well you'll have to tune in tomorrow because tomorrow is my May For Me....
And here we are the final product - one cool looking first time apron from one awesome man,
My Wonderful Husband... And now the vote is order "what do you think for his first?"
I know we are suppose to give tips but, when I was asking Jorge what he would like to share with you for tip giving, his response was "No one taught me how to sew - a book, a mom, a teacher and everything I do is counterfeit because it's 100% my talent or lack of" he does state to sew in stress less environment and to really take your time when using a cutting tool.
Jorge would like to thank the following ladies for being so wonderful and really rooting for him on his decision on doing May For Me: Tonya, Marcia, Heather, Chrissy, Becca. This was a lot of fun and I did just what I wanted to do for May For Me - To Learn a New Project - mission accomplished!!
Thank you for stopping by.I am happily married and a proud mother of two wonderful kids.
I am a self taught jewelry maker. Sitting down with just raw materials and having a beauty created in just a few hours is a unique feeling, espescially the feeling of freedom to express myself! I am greatful for this opportunity that life has given me. Also, I am greatful for all the encouragement and support that my family and friends have given me.
I take great pride and care in each of my creations.
I hope you'll find something unique for yourself or your loved ones while you are here.
Happy browsing!
