First the history of the Tanaka. Then the GiveAway Rules are below...
Good Luck!!
Legend says Miss Tanaka is a dragonfly found on mountain rainforest's of southern Brazil. It has iridescent golden wings, a bright blue tummy, and it likes to hop from plant to plant on small ponds, just as the sun is getting warm and the water lily flowers begin to open. Legend also says all the other bugs of the forest fall in love with it. To help Miss Tanaka take flight, press it down against a smooth, clean surface until the suction cup on the bottom grabs on. Wait a few seconds, and, as the suction cup releases, Miss Tanaka flies off to another place. Please make sure you stay away from Miss TanakaÕs flight path as it hops. Keep in mind Miss TanakaÕs wings are quite delicate.

I needed my yarn stash today. Uggg I found it at the bottom of my bin (one of my many bins). And the best part is that, all of my yarn stash was still placed in the freezer bag. Clean, neat and not tangled in any form.
LOL so now your know the secret to my stash. You see I use my yarn stash for many reasons. These days it's all about the flowers. Poor boy heads are being so ignored by my crocheting skills. I need to change this. I need to figure out what I could make that is so boyish and slap it on a hat... Help!!
While my husband is driving the RV - I use this plastic bin (you know the one that those cheap cheese balls come in - imagine that except cleaned) to hold my yarn - which helps it stay clean and from rolling all over the place. What's great about this is that when we stop at EVERY rest stop - I place my work down and not worry about getting tangled and such. I've had way to many projects ruined to not take this avenue.
Going to the post prior to this one will show you how I manage to store all my stash is a neat, clean and almost out of the way... I do store my working project in quilted bags that my husband made me and then we hang the bag in the closet to keep it out of the way... (which I have a sneaky gift I am working on and so the closet rocks these days)...

Back to elementary terms and quotes kids. So I apologize if I get the name of stitches wrong and such. I am one of those who learn best by watching someone else crocheting/knitting/beading - you know stuff like that. However my art work by hand in wood burning is all me....
So two years ago I started teaching myself how to crochet. I really, really tried to learn from my mother in-law but the language barrier was too much for me. Her strong Cuban accent was just to hard for me to understand and her little fingers went way too fast. Two years later I think the sweet lady would be proud...
I have come a long, long ways from day one. LOL my squares where anything but squares. I couldn't get my ends to match to save my life. Oh I would cry (I am so not kidding) and throw my crochet hook on the floor or at my husband - today we laugh at those memories and his puck marks from the pings on poor Jorge. and the worst was when I was learning the granny square - I know I have mention this before here. And so with the reminder of my terrible crocheting fits now lets add knitting to the scene. But you know what? Knitting was so easy for me...
So why do I crochet more then I knit? It's easy - I enjoy it more and I can do so many cute little things faster - and faster means money... In the last two months I have made it a point to learn one new thing a week when it comes to the yarn world. I am so happy now because I am even starting to read patterns now without screaming because what the heck is a HDC? Ah-ha I know now Half Double Crochet.... LOL I know you crochet experts think I am a turd but these things do not come easy for me. Truly I work my hardest on my projects and pour my love into it.
Today I was watching a crocheting video and was repeating the steps in (which I got on the first try) out loud and my husband says "Wow honey you really know this stuff now - don't you?" And then follows with "I am so proud of you". Which brought up the talk, about how much I have improved over the last two years.
The one thing that any crocheter or knitter needs is support. No matter the level - really in any form of crafting, support is so needed. These things whether advanced or easy takes lots of time to make and I'm sorry we are paid so little for the labor that goes into any project. And so I ask myself "why do I put myself through this?" EASY I love yarns.... I love advancing - and I love when people ask me for to make them a handmade item. That about pride and pride is allow in the crafting world.
I love thinking about the "Past" of my crocheting world and have had many laughs on how silly I was and often enough say "Oh yeah I've made those same mistakes" and loving in the "Future" when someone calls out for advice or for help or even better a sale because they just had to have one of my treasures...
My newest item I now know how to make is.... A way cool flower!!
I can crochet and surf the web at the same time!! GIFTED...

QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What was your project? Was it easy or hard?

Oh I am so elementary when it comes to terms and techniques of the yarn world, but I'll give it a shot.
As it is often stated "Parts of any fiber enthusiast's hobby is an appreciation of yarns." And so I have broken down and thought about what yarns I respect and yarns that I don't. And remember finance plays a big part in my experiences with yarns. Purchasing a $65 skein of yarn would send me to the welfare office in a hurry. And so budgeting plays the ultimate finale decision - shopping the clearance rack in store as well as on-line stores, plus ordering on-line only, when free shipping is offered, and by all means using coupons when I can.
But first an important message from the top of the tops of the crocheting world.
Art of Crochet by Teresa, and in her blog she says this:
Novelty yarn should not be used anywhere near a baby or toddler in any type of crochet item. Think about the result from fibers and invisible particles building up in the air passages of a newborn baby! In fact, novelty yarn should have a warning label, "Not for use in items intended for age 13 and below". I am not saying not to use it but use it responsibly on adult items. You can visit her blog for the full article and other goodies here and tell her I said hello.. thanks! http://crochet-mania.blogspot.com/
Which if you read the article from the crocheting queen, then you will understand why I do not like working with Chenille in which I do carry in my inventory. It breaks real easy and is just terrible for me to work with.
All the yarn and products seen in the photos in this article is from MY inventory
I did find this Chenille on the clearance rack and got a real bargain for under a $1.00 a skein back in Bishop, CA at http://www.benfranklinstores.com/. I had bought all they had left and now it sits in my bin begging to be used and shipped off somewhere where it will be loved. But that project has not popped into my head yet and so it will sit and sit until ready to be used. And I do have to say I do love the feel of chenille, I just find it hard to work with.
My other choice of yarns that I do work with often but because of the whole not wanting to go on welfare fear is Red Heart and probably one of the most highly bought yarns of all times because hey - it won't bankrupt you. I do find if I crochet for more then 3 hours straight (and I have been know to work 8+ hours crocheting or knitting because that's a form of income for me and the faster things get done the faster I can sell it on my etys stores) then my skin become rash like for all the rubbing from the yarn - I find it scratchy to work but I press on. A real saver for me is buying the 1-pound skein when they go on sale and thank goodness they do. I buy all of my 1-pound skeins ONLY from http://www.joann.com/ and when free shipping is being offered then I am so in on the deal. Lets face it with the price of gas and being almost 40 minutes from the nearest store - the savings get put back in my pocket when I only have less then a 1/4 of mile to walk to the post office - no gas needed there and the money stays in my pocket.
Yarns that I just have to have because of the feel and texture and the omg choice of colors. My choice is tie between 3 top picks. Nob Hills, Vanna's Choice and Lion Brands Jiffy
And there you go. Just elementary choices - no rhyme or reason. Just my personal taste and thoughts and theories... And so now I'll add some pictures of my storage situation right here in my rig. People are simply amazed that...
A - wow we craft in a 24 ft motorhome (and remember we lose 3 feet just because of the front cab that we really can not use except to drive)..
B - How do we store our supplies and such? I will blog more as we get ready to head to Idaho for our summer work (Jorge is building a new bed and making some much needed progress in the RV to make our last summer living in "MrCrafty" as comfy as possible)...
So enjoy and don't forget to check out the feature of the day and the question of the day at the bottom!!
I have 6 bins full of yarns...
Did I mention I have 6 bins full of yarns?

Money is tight folks and so the answer for this girl is "YES". This time of year can be a real challenge in the pocketbook. While my husband works for our RV spot in the winter time (this winter so far is a test run and we hope to come back to this winter work location after our summer work in ID), I work on a retainer and receive my paycheck every 4 months (ugg but it's all good) and so in between I try to find ways of saving.
While Boondocking (that's camping with NO hook-ups) I really couldn't do the whole coupon thing because being in the middle of now where works against us. If we drive to town just for the Sunday paper it will cost us gas money and so the coupon savings would be a joke. We could ride our bikes for sure but doing 30-40 miles to town would just kill the legs, the lungs, and my spirits. Print coupons on-line "NO WAY" not on a 500 watt generator (don't worry we are about to get the deal of a life time on better one that is a 3500 watt).
While we are now getting hook-ups now, I am back to being a coupon freak. I have a secret to share with you. I am going to tell you about a web site that will help you save so much money (I don't belong anymore because I learned their tricks) - if you want me to share the trick go ahead and pay the RV donation fee and I will walk you through it. But the site that I learned all the tricks is found here http://www.thegrocerygame.com/ and they will give you a list of what's a good deal and such for a membership price. Worth the money but so is my experience and cheaper too!!
I love coupons and I clip them all... Well except for things I know I will not use like baby diapers and dentures cream (unless I can get it for free and then I will use the free items for future blog giveaways - hint hint one is coming up this week).
A typical Sunday is.... Jorge OMG get your butt to the store and get my paper. He is a crossword puzzle FREAK and so we both win. The Sunday paper is $2.50 and we get that back in savings just on the first page - but there are tricks and it takes work. Just like it takes work putting money in the saving account no difference except maybe a paper cut here and there...
My friend has a little purple version of this coupon holder. Sorry I had this long ago and I???? Sorry it's part of the secret...
Today's blog is about fun and laughter... I want everyone who reads this to leave me a comment expressing their feeling about Miss Klara the ultimate singing DIVA... I personally get a front row seat any time I wish to be entertained... This is not my pet and would like to thank Klara Mommy for putting this video together for me - I've been begging to show her off.
Isn't she just beautiful. And because she sang for you all today's feature will be in honor of Klara the singing DIVA...
KATHEYL is about unique handmade whimsical and vintage jewelry, with designs that are inspired by nature and the orient. All pieces are lovingly handcrafted under a pet & smoke-free environment in Munich, Germany.
When we are parked for long periods of time, I tend to make gifts for people who are parked near us. Boondocking folks love little goodies and I love making them. These days I am so busy working on our 4 etsy stores, I just haven't had time to do such nice deeds.
Well, this morning we went to write a friend a thank-you note for sending Jorge a ton of beads and to come find out - we are out of thank-you cards. That's it! I've had it... And so I went to pull out my rubber stamps only I have Christmas cheap cheap rubber stamps.
So I emailed my friend Sue who truly is my hero. She is a Stampin’ Up! independent demonstrator and she is sending me a catalog along with some goodies. I can't wait. I had some questions about MAYBE starting up as my own seller - just so I can get the discount and she is so sweet sending me that info as well. I am to tell the world her recruiting password is: inspirecreateshare if and when you are ready to sign up to start selling go to her web site: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/suzieloves2stamp/#
My question for her is about making stationary cards and the rule of thumb on making them. She kind of laughed at me chanting "Are you crazy asking me - it's I who should be asking you, your the full time crafter"... OK I get the point! She may be onto something here... So Sue thank you for taking the time to help me with my order and answering my question. Not only my friend but someone I go to often for support. See Sue has MS (multiple sclerosis) which also took the life of one of my loving family member "Pea" almost 2 years ago June 1st. OK I don't want to talk about that any more - I miss my brother so much. But Sue understands me better then most of my friends do because she battles this terrible awful - I hate MS thing.
So take a moment and check out her web store and try to guess what I am buying.... ummmm I wonder who will guess right? I'm not giving hints because this is just too much fun.
Sue I love you and thank you for letting me brag about you...
Today my friend Lovely Women came by our rig to give me a present (I don't cry in front of people and had to wait till she left - super private - I know dumb) and I was so taking aback by the meaning. I have to share with you all what I got. Just for being me!! I like me today...
Welcome to my shop! I'm so ecstatic you dropped in to take a look. I love stamping, scrapbooking, and making paper crafts. I'm excited to share my handmade cards with you here! I do hope you enjoy them as much as I loved making them!
Oh boy!! Today was a major in the rig day. Easter inventory has begun - of sorts lol... We are in hope of bringing in more business into any of our 4 etsy stores. MrCraftyRVing which has all of Jorge's beading work. MrsCraftyRVing is quickly becoming gear for kids, kitchens and such. HatMasters is total crochet/knitted hats and boy the number of hats has grown, grown, grown a must check out. And last but not least and with still plenty of time to work on items is our Christmas101 with a handful of stuff still worth the look.
Today the fingers either crochet, cut, sew, seamed or taking pictures was so done all day... I am tired and my fingers really do hurt lol... But we agreed we need to be back at it tomorrow. So the following pictures are of project done today....
And there you have it the bulk of the type of stuff that was done today - there's more but you have to go to our stores to see for yourself. If you have an etsy account drop me a note - it's always nice to network with other etsy store owner or even better shoppers....
